Horrific accident in Turkey: 15 people killed, including firefighters, medics, journalists

(Patria) - A passenger bus overturned on a highway and crashed into firefighting, ambulance and media crews that were on the scene due to a previous vehicle rollover.

At least 15 people were killed and 22 injured in a serious traffic accident that occurred in the Turkish province of Gaziantep.

The accident happened on a section of the TAG highway in the Nizip district.

Earlier, a vehicle veered off the road, and emergency vehicles, fire services, and a live broadcast vehicle from the IHA news agency arrived at the scene. Then, a passenger bus overturned nearby, skidded along the road, and crashed into three parked vehicles.

Numerous ambulance and police teams arrived at the scene.

The scene of the accident was also visited by the Governor of Gaziantep, Davut Gul, who addressed journalists and offered condolences to the families of the victims and the entire nation.

“According to initial information, at least 15 of our fellow citizens have died, including three firefighters, two health workers, and two media workers. The injured have been taken to hospitals,” Gul said.
