Horrific accident on the Žepče-Maglaj road: Two girls and a young man killed, three people seriously injured

Last night, at 23:15, the duty service of the Žepče Police Station was informed that a serious traffic accident had occurred on the M-17 main road, in the place of Goliješnica, Žepče municipality, in which several persons were injured, the ZDK Ministry of Interior announced, as reported by the Patria news agency. 

Immediately after receiving the report, a police patrol was dispatched to the scene, which confirmed the accuracy of the report and established that the accident involved passenger motor vehicles: a Mercedes with license plates E70-M-070 and a Toyota with Austrian license plates GS235AW, resulting in three fatalities, while three persons were injured and transported to the Zenica Cantonal Hospital for medical assistance.

An on-site investigation was conducted by the investigation team of the Criminal Police Sector of the Ministry of Interior of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, led by the duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of the Zenica-Doboj Canton.

The investigative actions determined that the fatalities in this accident were: H.O., born in 1997, A.M., born in 1997, and M.N., born in 1996, all from Žepče, who were in the Mercedes vehicle.

The injured persons were from the other vehicle: B.E., born in 1973, B.B., born in 1967, and a child born in 2004, all from Goražde, who were diagnosed with serious bodily injuries at the Zenica Cantonal Hospital.

During the investigative actions, certain traces and objects were found, photographed, and collected from the scene, while the vehicles involved in the accident were transported to the official parking area of the Žepče Police Administration, where they will be subject to further checks and possible expert examinations ordered by the duty cantonal prosecutor, under whose orders and instructions all necessary measures and actions within the competence of police officers are being taken to determine all circumstances and causes of this serious traffic accident.

By order of the duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, who also led the investigative actions, the bodies of the deceased will be transported to the morgue of the Zenica Cantonal Hospital, where an autopsy will be performed, the statement said.
