Horrific accident near Ploče: BiH citizen (28) died on the 'turn of death', his wife (28) and child (1) were with him

(Patria) - In a traffic accident that occurred this morning at 5:45 AM on the state road D-8 in Baćina, near Ploče, a 28-year-old BiH citizen died, reported the Police Administration of Dubrovnik-Neretva.

The accident happened when a 59-year-old Kosovo citizen, driving from the direction of Split towards Dubrovnik, lost control of the vehicle with German license plates he was driving due to excessive speed.

Exiting a right turn, he crossed into the opposite lane, and then onto a gravel shoulder next to the road. He hit a 28-year-old BiH citizen who had previously stopped his vehicle with Slovenian national plates on the mentioned gravel shoulder and was standing next to it.

After hitting the pedestrian, the vehicle with German license plates went down a ravine about two meters deep.

As a result of the impact, the 28-year-old BiH citizen died at the scene, while a passenger in his vehicle, a 28-year-old female BiH citizen, sustained minor injuries.

A one-year-old child, who was also in the vehicle, was fortunately unharmed, writes Jutarnji list.

The Kosovo citizen who caused this traffic accident sustained serious injuries and was transported to the Split hospital where he was admitted for further treatment, while the passengers from his vehicle: a 52-year-old woman, a 23-year-old man, and a 21-year-old woman, all Kosovo citizens, were unharmed.

During the investigation, which was led by police officers, traffic on this part of the Adriatic Magistrala was conducted alternately in one lane, with regulation by police officers.

Incidentally, locals call this section of the road the "turn of death".
