SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Council of Ministers of BiH, at the proposal of the Ministry of Security, adopted a Decision on restricting the movement and stay of foreigners in Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to minimize the consequences and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
The decision restricts the movement and stay of foreigners who do not have valid identification documents based on which their real identity can be reliably determined, who are illegally staying in BiH, who have expressed an intention to submit an asylum application and possess a valid certificate of expressed intention, or who have submitted an asylum application in BiH, the Council of Ministers of BiH announced.
Restrictions for these foreigners refer to the prohibition of movement and stay outside the centers where they are accommodated.
The Service for Foreigners' Affairs, in cooperation with authorized police officers from entity and cantonal ministries of interior and the Brčko District Police, will take foreigners who have any of these statuses in BiH and who are found outside the centers, in accordance with the Law on Foreigners, to the nearest temporary reception center, according to the location where the foreigner is found.
This decision is temporarily applied until the reasons for prescribing these measures cease, about which the Council of Ministers of BiH will make a decision.
