(Patria) - Hundreds of buildings have been "completely destroyed" in the Gaza Strip in last night's Israeli bombardment, the Palestinian Civil Defense announced today.
- Hundreds of buildings and houses have been completely destroyed, and thousands of apartments damaged - Mahmud Basal, spokesperson for the Civil Defense in Gaza, a Palestinian territory controlled by Hamas which Israel wants to destroy, told AFP.
Last night's intense bombings have "changed the appearance of Gaza and its northern areas," he said.
According to several testimonies that AFP was able to gather, despite the communication blockade imposed by Israel before the attacks, last night's fiercest Israeli bombardment was concentrated on the areas around the two Al-Shifa hospitals in Gaza and around a hospital further north, in the Jabalia sector, known as the "Indonesian" hospital because it was built thanks to a donation from Indonesia.
The bombings also created huge craters in the streets, reports RSE.
