Hundreds Search for Body of Man Drowned in Miljacka, Government Allocates 20,000 KM for Action

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at today's emergency, telephonically held session, adopted a Decision on approving the allocation of funds from the current reserve to the Federal Civil Protection Administration in the amount of 20,000 KM for additional costs of searching for the missing person who drowned in the Miljacka River, the Government announced.

The decision was made based on information compiled by the Federal Civil Protection Administration.

The search for this person has been ongoing for the fourth day, and members of the Federal Civil Protection Administration, Cantonal Civil Protection Administration, Republika Srpska Civil Protection Administration, and other rescuers have been involved since early this morning.

Today, the search was extended to Doboj.

Approximately 100 members of the FUCZ, 200 volunteers, 25 ground teams (each team consisting of five people), four FUCZ boat crews, one RUCZ RS boat crew, one SRK „Neretva“ boat crew, and one boat crew from the special unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton are on site.

Volunteers are organized into groups and will work alongside FUCZ members to ensure their safety.

The search is being conducted from the mouth of the Miljacka into the Bosna River towards Visoko, and from there towards Kakanj, Zenica, and Doboj.

From Visoko to Doboj, members of the FUCZ are on site with the special police unit of the MUP of ZDK and members of the Republika Srpska Civil Protection Administration, while the search from the accident site in Sarajevo to Visoko is led by the Cantonal Civil Protection Administration with the assistance of the Federal Police Administration.

Volunteers have joined the teams of the civil protection and the Mountain Rescue Service with the aim of finding the body of the missing young man more quickly.
