(Patria) - British police announced that 82 people were arrested in central London, all from a group of demonstrators who opposed the pro-Palestinian march held today.
A large number of people gathered in London for a pro-Palestinian protest and march organized under heavy police supervision on the day that the formal end of World War I is commemorated in many Western countries, including Britain.
It is estimated that there were about 300,000 people, and they demanded a ceasefire in Gaza, an AFP spokesperson for the London police said.

Nearly 2,000 police officers were mobilized to avoid any riots or excesses by participants of the march for Gaza or counter-demonstrators.
The pro-Palestinian march attracted counter-demonstrators from far-right groups.
Police stated that there was a "significant number" of counter-demonstrators in central London, and clashes broke out between them and the police near the Cenotaph war memorial, near the Houses of Parliament and Westminster, reports Hina.
This is the "most significant march" organized in the British capital since Hamas's bloody attack on Israel on October 7 and the massive response launched by the Israeli army, the London police wrote on social network X.
More than 100,000 demonstrators were expected to gather in the capital.
They are demanding a ceasefire five weeks after the attack by the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas on Israel, which responded with massive bombing of the Gaza Strip.
