(Patria) - Several hundred state police officers from three police agencies (SIPA, GP BiH, and DKPT) will hold peaceful protests today before and during the session of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament, which begins at 12:00 PM.
The Union of Police Organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina (comprising the SIPA Union, GP BiH Union, and DKPT BiH Union) will hold peaceful protests from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in front of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina building, with the aim of expressing dissatisfaction with the material and financial status and the attitude of government representatives towards employees in police agencies at the state level of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Union has already sent a letter to the delegates, and today they will reiterate their demands:
1. Adoption of amendments to the Law on Salaries and Allowances of Employees in the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which provides for an increase in coefficients for salary calculation by 0.20 for ranks up to "senior inspector" and titles up to "expert advisor," including the aforementioned, which is on the agenda of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament session.
2. Urgent adoption of the budget for 2022;
3. Urgent amendment of the Decision on compensation for travel expenses to and from work.
Otherwise, state police officers are in a precarious position compared to police officers of cantonal MUPs and the Federal MUP, whose salaries are significantly higher.
