JABLANICA, (Patria) - Anti-fascists from BiH, as well as from the countries of the region, gathered today in Jablanica to mark the 76th anniversary of the Battle of Neretva, better known as the Battle for the Wounded. Member of the Presidency of BiH Željko Komšić laid flowers in front of the monument of the Museum of the Battle for the Wounded.
"As long as you have problems and as long as you clash with fascism, neo-fascism, any kind of hatred based on hatred of some because they are different, this has its deep meaning. I would, of course, wish the situation were different because I believe that the victors in 1945 also thought they had put an end to that story about fascism", said Komšić, adding that the fight against fascism is still ongoing.
"So many years after the end of World War II in these areas, we still cannot get rid of this fascism. It is not, after all, specific only to BiH and the region; after all, the whole of Europe and democratic countries are facing this scourge of fascism, but under new names, new forms; in essence, the same fascist, Nazi idea shows that it is not over, that it is not dead. From time to time, it strengthens to such an extent that it poses a danger to the entire European continent. We are most interested in BiH and the region, that people gather on this basis, because it is about civilizational values. In essence, these values state that we are all the same, that all people are the same,“ Komšić conveyed.

Numerous members of the SDP also attended the commemoration, and they held a session of the party's Presidency in Jablanica this morning.
At 12 o'clock, 76 carnations were thrown from the bridge into the Neretva River, after which the gathering of anti-fascists continued. A large number of attendees came from Montenegro.
