Stoltenberg with Zelensky: It's not too late for Ukraine to win

(Patria) - NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg spoke yesterday in Kyiv with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

At a joint press conference, Stoltenberg assessed that the months-long delay in US military aid to Ukraine had serious consequences on the battlefield, reported the AFP agency.

Stoltenberg said that "more military aid is on the way" and that it is "not too late" for Ukraine to win the war.

- Ukraine has been outgunned for months, forced to ration its ammunition... But it is not too late for it to win - Stoltenberg stated at the joint press conference with the Ukrainian president.

Zelensky, for his part, appealed for faster delivery of weapons so that Ukraine could resist the Russian offensive. He emphasized that "vital weapons" from the US have begun to arrive in Ukraine, but in small quantities.

- Together we must disrupt the Russian offensive. The speed of (weapons) supply literally means stabilization of the front line - Zelensky said, as reported by RSE.

The US last week adopted a $61 billion aid package for Ukraine, ending a months-long congressional deadlock in support of Kyiv, which faces low stocks of artillery shells.

Ukraine's top commander stated two days ago that his troops had withdrawn from three villages in the east where Russian forces are on the offensive and gradually gaining ground.

- The Russian army is now trying to exploit the situation while we wait for deliveries from our partners - Zelensky said yesterday.

He emphasized the need for the delivery of sophisticated American Patriot air defense systems, which Kyiv considers crucial for defending Ukraine's airspace from Russian missile attacks.
