Stolac: Slovo Gorčina Culture Festival

STOLAC, (Patria) - The official opening of the Slovo Gorčina Culture Festival, which will feature concerts, plays, exhibitions, book promotions, and more over three days, will be held tonight, July 26, at the Radimlja necropolis of stećci in Stolac, with recitals by poets Amir Brk and Robert Pehar.

After that, the courtyard of Đulhanumina kuća will host a concert by the Sarajevo electro duo Basheskia & Edward EQ, whose rare live performances are a treat for the audience, and the experience will be complemented by an VJing performance by Edita Gazibara.

This year again, the organizers are trying to revive the spirit of Mak Dizdar and the idea of a festival that unites and brings our entire artistic creation to one place, Stolac.

An important part of the festival is the Stolac Summer University, which begins tomorrow with a lecture by Professor Dragan Markovina, followed by lectures by Prof. Tomislav Brk and Štefica Galić.

This year's theme of the university is RESISTANCE!, and it is organized in cooperation with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, as part of the SEE Democratic Left project.

The festival will be held until Sunday, July 28, when, among other things, a promotion of the poetry collection Prostori by author Željana Vukanac, last year's winner of the Mak Dizdar award, will be held.
