REACTIONS ARRIVE: According to exit polls, Putin won with 87.8 percent of the vote

(Patria) - Russian President Vladimir Putin convincingly won the presidential elections with 87.8 percent of the vote, an exit poll by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) showed on Sunday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has already commented. Commenting on the exit poll, Zelensky said that the "Russian dictator is simulating new elections", and that Putin "is sick with power and is doing everything to rule forever".

"There is no legitimacy in this imitation of elections, and there can be none. This person should be tried in The Hague. That is what we must ensure," he said, reports Index.

The White House stated that the elections in Russia "were clearly not free, nor fair" given how Putin imprisoned his opponents and prevented others from competing against him.

Let us recall that in the elections, Putin was generally opposed by three candidates: Nikolai Kharitonov, Leonid Slutsky, and Vladislav Davankov.
