(Patria) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed regret today over the attack on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip, which killed 20 people, including five journalists.

- Israel deeply regrets the tragic accident that occurred today at Nasser Hospital in Gaza. Israel values the work of journalists, medical staff, and all civilians - Netanyahu said.

Condemnations from countries are pouring in over this Israeli attack in which journalists, healthcare workers, and civilians were killed.

US President Donald Trump said he was "not happy about it" and that the "nightmare needs to end".

Israel attacked Nasser Hospital in the southern Gaza Strip today. Among the dead are five journalists who worked for Reuters, Associated Press, Al Jazeera, and other media outlets.

Trump expressed dissatisfaction with the Israeli attack on the hospital in Gaza, which killed at least 20 people, saying he was not informed about the attack earlier.

- Well, I'm not happy about it. I don't want to see it. At the same time, we have to end this... nightmare - Trump told reporters at the White House.

The Israeli army admitted to attacking the hospital area and said the chief of staff had ordered an investigation.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement expressing regret for the damage caused to "uninvolved individuals" and stated that they do not target journalists.

French President Emmanuel Macron said that Israeli attacks on the hospital in Gaza are "unacceptable".

The German Foreign Ministry called for an investigation into the attack in a post on X, saying it was shocked by the deaths of several journalists, emergency service personnel, and civilians.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres strongly condemned the Israeli attack on the hospital in Gaza and called for a swift and impartial investigation.

The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) joined the condemnations of the attack and called on Israel to stop attacking healthcare facilities.

- As people in Gaza starve, their already limited access to healthcare is further crippled by repeated attacks.

He said that 50 people were injured in the attacks, including severely ill patients who were already receiving care.
