Scholarships for young people from BiH who have proven success in starting a business

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - IEEE, the BiH Futures Foundation, the MIT Legatum Center, and the prestigious Australian La Trobe University are once again offering 50 free scholarships for a special program for young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina who want to learn more about building and managing their own businesses.

IEEE Innovation Nation BiH is a program initiated by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world's largest technical organization with over 420,000 members worldwide. The program has been held in our country for the sixth consecutive year, and the number of participants, lecturers, and awards for the best is growing every year. The value of the program is estimated at over KM 5,000, reflected in the resources available to participants.

- The Innovation Nation initiative was launched a few years ago with the aim of developing new success stories in developing countries. In addition to BiH, the program is also held in Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Jamaica. We are aware that young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina do not have the opportunity to learn firsthand about starting a business, developing an idea, all the factors involved, and running that business. It is precisely for this reason that we are very proud to have brought this program to our country and that it gathers more and more participants each year who generate new success stories. - emphasize the BiH Futures Foundation.

IEEE Innovation Nation Bosnia & Herzegovina 2021 is a great opportunity for all young people to:

• Attend a course that normally costs over 5000 KM completely free of charge

• Learn how to develop a business idea from scratch to presentation before investors

• Work directly with world-class startup coaches on developing their idea

• Receive an IEEE, MIT Legatum Center, and La Trobe University certificate

• Receive KM 20,000 as an incentive for the development of their idea

During 12 weeks, young professionals and students will be formed into interdisciplinary teams and work on developing startups with the support of world experts from various fields. All interested parties can apply as individuals or as a team.

Last year's winner is the Eco-Logical startup, which produces wooden straws in a new innovative way, and the business valuation based on investments so far is KM 700,000.
