Bankruptcy administrator enters Bosnia's oldest orthopedic aids company

Bankruptcy administrator Jasmin Šarenkapa, appointed by the Sarajevo Court, has been in the state-owned company Neretva for two weeks now, and according to the Patria News Agency, he will decide on the fate of the only Bosnian national company for the production of orthopedic aids, which has been struggling significantly since the war in BiH, as early as next week.

Neretva is the oldest company for the production of orthopedic aids in BiH, founded after the end of World War II, and it is currently in a very difficult situation, with outstanding obligations to employees and the state.

The situation at Neretva has been further complicated by lawsuits filed by a group of employees, due to whose claims for unpaid wages the Court sold the company's main building in the center of Sarajevo, which has effectively jeopardized the entire future production.

The bankruptcy administrator will submit a report to the Sarajevo Court next week, based on which the Court will declare Neretva bankrupt, which would mean that the Sarajevo Canton authorities will try to save Neretva, or they will decide on its liquidation, i.e., closure.

Senad Osmanagić, director of Neretva, claims that a group of employees, without the bankruptcy administrator's knowledge, met with the Minister of Economy of Sarajevo Canton Emir Hrenovica on Friday, which he considers a direct violation of the law, fearing it could further complicate Neretva's situation, writes NAP.
