State Department and Pentagon: We express condolences for the lost Israeli lives, we will help Israel

(Patria) - The State Department condemned the attacks by Hamas terrorists on Israel, including civilians and civilian communities, spokesman Matthew Miller said.

"There is never any justification for terrorism. We stand in solidarity with the government and people of Israel and express our condolences for the Israeli lives lost in these attacks.

We will remain in close contact with our Israeli partners. The United States supports Israel's right to defend itself," said State Department spokesman Matthew Miller.

The Pentagon also reacted.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said today that the United States will work to ensure that Israel "has what it needs to defend itself."

"In the coming days, the Department of Defense will work to ensure that Israel has what it needs to defend itself and protect civilians from indiscriminate violence and terrorism," Austin said in a statement.
