Starmer concerned about Putin being on Trump's 'Peace Committee'

(Patria) - British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said he is "obviously" concerned that Russian President Vladimir Putin is on the "Peace Committee" proposed by US President Donald Trump.

Trump said on Wednesday that Putin had accepted his invitation to join the initiative, but the Russian leader said the invitation is only under consideration, Reuters reports.

"I am obviously concerned about Putin being on the Peace Steering Committee," Starmer said in an interview. "He is waging a war in a European country. They are dropping bombs on Ukraine."

"We must not let the events of last week drift from focus. We must work with the Americans. It will be allies and others who defend and support Ukraine in a conflict they did not create."
