Starmer: Putin, end the war, get out of Ukraine

(Patria) - British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that irresponsible Russian rhetoric will not deter him from providing support to Ukraine, after Russian President Vladimir Putin lowered the threshold for resorting to a nuclear attack.

- Irresponsible rhetoric is coming from Russia, and that will not deter us from providing support to Ukraine - Starmer told reporters at the G20 Summit in Brazil.

Putin's new nuclear doctrine lowers the threshold at which Russia could use atomic weapons in response to attacks threatening its territorial integrity.

This move by Putin followed Ukraine's use of American ATACMS missiles yesterday to attack Russian territory, taking advantage of the outgoing Biden administration's permission, which Ukraine finally secured on the 1000th day of the war.

Speaking about this milestone in the conflict, Starmer stated that Putin is the author of his own exile, as he has not attended the G20 leaders' Summit for the third consecutive year.

- I am sending a message to (Putin) again: end the war, get out of Ukraine - Starmer added.
