(Patria) - British Prime Minister Keir Starmer joined international reactions and welcomed the ceasefire agreement in Ukraine, reached at the talks in Saudi Arabia.
"This is an important moment for peace in Ukraine, and now we must all redouble our efforts to achieve a lasting and secure peace as soon as possible," Starmer said in an official statement.
He echoed the words of US Secretary of State Marc Rubio, saying that the "ball is now in Russia's court".
- Russia must now agree to a ceasefire and an end to the fighting - Starmer stated.
He also emphasized that the United Kingdom is ready to help achieve a just and lasting peace that will allow Ukraine to enjoy its freedom.
He announced that he will gather world leaders this weekend to discuss further steps.
