What are security agencies doing: SIPA emblems and uniforms for sale in ads

Dozens of ads have been posted on the website olx.ba offering various emblems and insignia of BiH institutions, authorities, and security structures for sale, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

Several ads even offer IFOR and SFOR emblems for sale at a price of 15 KM.

One ad offers a complete emblem of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH, another of the Court Police of Republika Srpska, while a third offers various emblems with the price to be agreed upon.

Also on offer is a tactical SIPA uniform for 100 KM, although the seller states it is for collectors only.

While FUP and OSA emblems were offered in earlier ads, they cannot be found now, whereas SIPA emblems and caps can be.

Given the security situation in BiH, the fact that these items are freely available for sale is concerning. Does this mean in practice that someone can buy a SIPA uniform and commit a crime, or enter anywhere under the guise of a SIPA employee, because why would anyone check if it is a real uniform and if that person is an employee of that agency? This should, however, be the job of those trained and paid to monitor such security challenges and potential threats.
