What are the police and prosecution doing: Another car stolen in Dobrinja, this time a guard was tied up

Another Audi car was stolen last night in the Sarajevo settlement of Dobrinja from one of the parking garages at gunpoint, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

This time, the thieves tied up the guard and drove the car away in an unknown direction.

The Patria Agency has previously written about car thefts, and the frequent thefts in this settlement are the result of police sluggishness and the lack of cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, as well as the inaction of the prosecutor's offices.

From sources in the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, we learn that one prosecutor has a completed case file with the names and surnames of organized groups involved in car thefts, but that nothing is being done on that case.

According to statistics, from January to September this year, 864 cars were stolen in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but these figures are not realistic considering that a large number of people do not even report thefts to the police but pay a "ransom" for the stolen car at the call of the car mafia.

On the other hand, these organized groups, according to sources from police structures, may also be connected with individuals within the police services themselves.

Statistics for Republika Srpska show that 88 vehicles were stolen in the first nine months in this entity, mostly in Banja Luka. Interestingly, while the number of thefts is decreasing in Republika Srpska, it is proportionally increasing in Sarajevo Canton, with almost 600 cars stolen in half a year, and nearly 60 vehicles in October alone.
