SARAJEVO, (Patria) – The memorial to murdered police officers Adis Šehović and Davor Vujinović was knocked down by a stormy wind during the night.
As confirmed to Patria by the Minister of the Interior of Sarajevo Canton Admir Katica, in cooperation with the Union, activities have been undertaken to restore the memorial by the weekend.
Minister Katica did not wish to comment extensively on today's operation involving searches in East Sarajevo and Pale in connection with the murder of two police officers in October 2018.
“The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton is leading the investigation, and since the moment of the murder, the Ministry of the Interior of Sarajevo Canton has been dedicated to this task, working around the clock, and will not stop until the perpetrators are discovered,” Katica said for NAP.
Incidentally, it was Katica who initiated the erection of the memorial in Geteova Street, where the police officers were killed on duty. The memorial was unveiled on the first anniversary of the murder, October 26, 2019.
