EU FUNDS FBiH Government sets payments of up to 400 and 600 KM per household to mitigate the energy crisis

(Patria) - The European Union, through the Energy Support Package, has allocated 70 million euros in grants to Bosnia and Herzegovina to mitigate the consequences of the energy crisis and improve energy efficiency. The support includes 50 million euros for approximately 190,000 vulnerable households and 20 million euros for improving energy efficiency in approximately 4,000 households and around 400 micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.

As part of the support for vulnerable households, non-refundable EU aid has been disbursed in Republika Srpska to mitigate the negative socio-economic impacts of the energy crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Approximately 67,000 vulnerable households have already received funds secured by the European Union.

In the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy published a public call on October 23, 2023, for the allocation of EU aid to vulnerable households. The FBiH Government will make a final decision at tomorrow's session on the individual amounts per household and the total funds to be transferred to municipalities and cities, which will then carry out payments to the end-users, announced the EU Delegation.

The FBiH Government had previously made a decision that included payments of 300 KM and 600 KM respectively. However, the FBiH Government has changed its earlier decision, so instead of 300 KM, an amount not exceeding 400 KM will be paid to the pensioner category, while the decision for a maximum of 600 KM remains unchanged for the other three categories.

We remind you that 152,488 households met the criteria according to the public call from the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. Minister Adnan Delić has announced a press conference for Thursday, where all details regarding the transfers to municipalities and cities and payments to applicants will be known.
