Sarajevo Agricultural, Food, Veterinary and Service High School receives 5,500 KM

Although the Municipality of Centar does not have direct jurisdiction over education, it has been allocating significant funds from its budget for many years to improve the education system and working conditions in kindergartens, elementary and high schools located within its territory.

The Municipality of Centar Sarajevo allocated 5,500 convertible marks from its 2016 budget to the Sarajevo Agricultural, Food, Veterinary and Service High School for the procurement of equipment, continuing its long-standing commitment to improving working conditions in this educational institution, Patria reports.

Suad Alić, the school's principal, praised the excellent cooperation with the Municipality of Centar, emphasizing that this donation has greatly improved the working conditions in their school and that this local community is one of the few that provides support to primary and secondary education.

- We added some of our own funds to the amount received from the Municipality and purchased a dough mixer for the school's laboratory workshop-bakery. This mixer is essential for practical training and will be of great benefit to us. This is not the first time the Municipality has financially assisted us, and we are truly grateful for it. Thanks to the donations from the Municipality of Centar, we have renovated the area in front of the school and launched a chemistry laboratory, which represents a revolutionary step for our school, equipped the veterinary department and purchased two models of hands for drug application, as well as a surgical set, said Alić.

A total of 80,500 KM was allocated from the 2016 budget for high schools, and this money is mainly intended for the renovation of school buildings, as well as equipping laboratories and classrooms.
