Serbs Planned Attack: Why Are They Worried About Erdogan's Fabricated Statement?!

If the reaction of official Belgrade and the authorities of Republika Srpska to the alleged statement by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is anything to go by, a new aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina and an attack on Bosniaks is being prepared, according to an analysis by the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

Namely, the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, will have urgent consultations today "with his older brother" Aleksandar Vučić, the Prime Minister of Serbia, regarding the statement by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, which turned out to be inauthentic.

In recent days, social networks have been set ablaze by a statement attributed to the Turkish leader, in which he promises that Turkey and its people will defend Bosniaks if anyone attacks them.

- I swear to you by Allah the Almighty, as long as I live, if anyone touches Bosniaks in any way, they will have one hundred million Turks against them. Turkey, or the Ottoman Empire, handed over its brothers, the Bosniaks, to the enemy without any protection from Austria-Hungary in the distant past. We have never been able to forgive ourselves for that, and we never will. And so, do not be surprised when a Turkish warship sails into Neum, because that is our sign and support for the sovereignty of BiH - the alleged Erdogan statement read.

However, although the Turkish Embassy in Sarajevo has firmly denied that Erdogan made the statement, the panic in Banja Luka and Belgrade has not subsided. However, it is completely unclear why such a statement by the Turkish Prime Minister, had he made it, would be controversial and disturbing to Serbian politics.

It promises help and support to a people who were victims of genocide and aggression, should anyone attack them. Therefore, those who have no plans to attack Bosniaks have no reason to be concerned, as powerful Turkey has promised to defend them.

However, Dodik and Vučić appear to be seriously concerned, and from this, it can be understood that they may have planned something in the near future, and they are worried if powerful Turkey and Erdogan were to interfere or oppose it.

At the same time, the panicked reaction of Serbian politicians to the fabricated statement, especially from this side of the Drina, is perhaps part of the pre-election campaign, but it is surprising that Vučić, who presents himself as a pro-European leader, agrees to be drawn into this game, NAP reports.
