Decision Ready to Pay Jakić's Salary, OdRaz Employees Left Without Five Salaries

Director of the OdRaz Foundation Vinko Jakić is looking for a way to pay the salaries owed to him by the Foundation, writes Patria.

A Decision has been drafted, requesting the calculation of salary difference for employee Vinko Jakić, for the period from July 22, 2014, to January 15, 2016, Patria reveals. Jakić has not yet signed this decision. The amount of money involved is not specified.

Meanwhile, about 20 Foundation employees have not received their salaries for five months! OdRaz has no money after the Foundation lost all its important projects due to Jakić. Jakić plans to pay his salaries from the funds that the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is expected to transfer to the Foundation's account.

The OdRaz Foundation was established in 2001 by the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to implement economic development and reconstruction projects in this BiH entity. The World Bank declared the Foundation one of the best foundations of its kind in the region. It has implemented a large number of projects, mostly multi-million dollar ones.

The former Management Board of OdRaz, consisting of seven ministers from the Government of FBiH, dismissed Jakić from the position of director in 2014. He was appointed director a year earlier. He was dismissed for abusing his position to the detriment of the Foundation. He was reinstated to this position by the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo at the end of last year, under strange circumstances.
Today, OdRaz operates with great difficulty. Cooperation with the World Bank has also been halted.

It was planned for OdRaz to start implementing a series of local development projects in several municipalities in the FBiH. The plan was for OdRaz to also activate favorable loans from the revolving fund for small and medium-sized enterprises. Domestic and foreign creditors have frozen all these projects while Jakić is at the head of the Foundation.

He was also recently expelled from the HSP party, again due to malversations. The Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor's Office has received several criminal complaints against him, mostly for abuse of position. However, Jakić continues to hold his position at the head of OdRaz. His work is supervised by government ministers from SDA, SBB, and HDZ, writes Patria.
