US and BiH Agreement: Support for the Fight Against Crime, Corruption, and Terrorism

The Council of Ministers of BiH accepted the Letter of Agreement on Law Enforcement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the United States of America, which is an implementing document of the previously concluded agreement between the United States of America and Bosnia and Herzegovina on economic, technical, and related assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Based on the Letter of Agreement, the two countries will establish and support projects aimed at strengthening the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly in enhancing BiH's capacity to combat organized crime, corruption, and terrorism, reports Patria agency.

The Government of the United States of America will provide funds in the amount of approximately 3.7 million US dollars over the next five years for the implementation of the Letter of Intent.

The Ministry of Security will submit the Letter of Agreement to the Presidency of BiH for further procedure in accordance with the Decision of the Presidency of BiH on the procedure for ministries, administrative organizations, and other BiH institutions when undertaking activities and initiating procedures in the area of international relations aimed at achieving international cooperation within their scope, and the Minister of Security has been proposed as the BiH signatory.
