Split: Norwegian woman reports three Australians for rape in men's toilet

Three young Australians were brought in for questioning yesterday at the County State Attorney's Office in Split, on suspicion of raping a young Norwegian woman in a Split nightclub, reports the Patria news agency.

The Norwegian woman, who is not yet 18 years old, allegedly went into the men's toilet with one Australian, and then two of his friends joined them.

The Norwegian woman did not report the rape to any club staff, nor did anyone notice that such a thing had happened. She left the club and returned with the police. The Australians were not found at the scene; they were arrested two days later. The Norwegian woman was examined and reportedly no injuries were found that would confirm that force was used.

The Australians, however, claim that everything was consensual and that there was no rape.

The investigating judge of the Split County Court confiscated their passports but did not order them into custody, despite the request of the State Attorney's Office, writes Index.
