Special forces arrested a trio involved in robberies in Prijedor and Doboj

Police officers of the Criminal Police Sector of the Public Security Center Prijedor, on January 18, in cooperation with the District Public Prosecutor's Office Banja Luka, Regional Office Prijedor, and with the engagement of the Special Police Unit of Republika Srpska and members of the Support Unit Prijedor, carried out an operation codenamed "Trojka" (Trio), reports the Patria News Agency.

As part of the operation in the area of Banja Luka and the municipality of Bosanski Novi, N.N. (1982), D.I. (1975), B.S. (1984), and M.V. (1975) were arrested. They were arrested due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they committed several criminal offenses against property in the area of Prijedor and Doboj.

On the same day, with the consent of the District Public Prosecutor's Office Banja Luka, Regional Office Prijedor, and the order of the Basic Court Prijedor, searches were conducted of facilities used by the suspects. During the search of the facility belonging to the person identified by the initials N.N., police officers found and temporarily confiscated items that were stolen during the commission of the criminal offenses they are suspected of, as well as items that link him to these criminal offenses.

Furthermore, during the search of the house and passenger vehicle of the person identified by the initials D.I., police officers found and temporarily confiscated two hand-held rocket launchers, known as "zolje", and a pistol magazine with ammunition. All found and confiscated items will be used as evidence against the suspects in further proceedings.

Along with the report on the committed criminal offenses of aggravated theft, N.N. and M.V. were handed over to the District Public Prosecutor's Office Banja Luka for further proceedings, while D.I. and B.S. were released from official premises. After the documentation and completion of the case files, a report on the committed criminal offense of illegal production and trafficking of weapons or explosive materials will be submitted to the competent prosecutor's office against D.I., it was announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska.
