Republican Donald Trump has pulled away from other potential Republican candidates for US president in the 2016 elections, increasing his lead over his closest rivals last week, a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Friday showed, reports the Patria News Agency.
Republican voters apparently were not bothered by the statement of billionaire Trump, who dominates among 17 candidates for the Republican nomination, that he would deport all illegal immigrants, nor by his insults directed at his opponents.
Almost 32 percent of Republicans gave their support to Trump in the online poll, which is eight percent more compared to the previous week.
Trump has almost doubled the support of his closest rival, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, who received 16 percent. Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson is third with eight percent support.
