17-year-old saxophonist Benjamin Aganlić's solo concert on February 27

Young Sarajevo saxophonist Benjamin Aganlić will hold his first solo concert on February 27 at the Dom Oružanih snaga BiH, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

This 17-year-old artist has won significant awards at domestic and international competitions. He is the recipient of three first prizes and one special award at federal music school competitions, as well as first and second prizes at the international competition in Belgrade in 2011 and 2013, when he also received a silver plaque at Emona (European Musicians on Air) in Ljubljana. In the same year, he was awarded by the Ministry of Education as one of the most successful high school students in the Federation of BiH. Since last year, Benjamin has been attending the Conservatory of Music and Ballet in Ljubljana.

In the past five years, Aganlić has performed with the SAXiJA quartet, appeared at the Sarajevo Philharmonic's New Year's concert, and at the beginning of this month, he performed at the Sarajevo City Hall with the symphony orchestra of the Ljubljana Conservatory, as part of Prešeren Days. This talented saxophonist will represent the Conservatory as a member of the youth saxophone orchestra that will participate in the World Saxophone Congress in Strasbourg in July 2015.

At his first solo concert at the Dom OS BiH, Benjamin Aganlić will perform with piano accompaniment by Nataša Ristić, and will perform works by Demersseman, Hindemith, Glazunov, and Iturralde. Admission to the concert is free, and it is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM.
