SNSD, SDP, and SDA united against the international community, sharp reaction from the EU

The Delegation of the European Union in BiH has reacted to the statement made by the Minister of Finance and Treasury, Nikola Špirić, on last night's Dnevnik 2 RTRS, broadcast on September 22, which reads:

- That donor conference in Brussels has taken on a demonstrative character. I have a feeling that Brussels is waiting for the election results to help the citizens of BiH, which I do not consider help, but blackmail, and I do not think that is good either - said Špirić, which can be seen here

The EU Delegation/Office of the EU Special Representative in BiH condemns such untrue statements and unfounded claims, reports the Patria agency.

At the donor conference, the EU pledged aid for Bosnia and Herzegovina worth 85 million euros. The fact is that the first part of the donated funds, amounting to 42 million euros, is currently being implemented through the EU Program for Flood Recovery. The program is implemented by UNDP, UNICEF, and IOM, with the aim of meeting the needs identified within the Flood Recovery and Reconstruction Needs Assessment published in July. The European Union is not waiting but is actively helping the population in BiH.

The money of EU citizens, donated in solidarity with BiH, is currently being used for the reconstruction of schools, health centers, municipal buildings, and social work centers. These funds are helping the most vulnerable families in rebuilding their homes. It is helping to restart the domestic economy. Last week, a renovated kindergarten was opened in Doboj, while the Secondary School Center in Doboj was opened on Monday, September 22. During this week, the Head of the Delegation/EU Special Representative will travel to Šamac to open another in a series of renovated schools. Public calls for applications for housing reconstruction assistance and assistance to small and medium-sized enterprises have been published.

Furthermore, the EU is currently working on preparing the second phase of donations to BiH, i.e., an additional package of 43 million euros.

Given all these facts, it is absolutely unacceptable for a domestic official to mislead the public in such a way, to insult all those who are currently working hard on the ground, and to insult the solidarity shown by EU citizens, reports Patria.

Špirić's insult to the EU, or rather to the friendly countries of our state, is just a continuation of what we have had the opportunity to hear from the pre-election rallies of SDA and SDP in previous days. Such a statement by Špirić is just another piece of evidence that SDA, SDP, and SNSD have worked together on all projects throughout these years, and it is not surprising that Milorad Dodik's people have joined the propaganda against the EU and the US, Zlatko Lagumdžija, and Bakir Izetbegović, writes Patria.
