(Patria) - Parts of Germany, Switzerland and Austria are under snow. Public transport in Munich has been suspended, and flights from Munich Airport have been suspended.
Heavy snowfall hit southern Germany on Friday evening and continued this morning, causing major disruptions to traffic.
The German Meteorological Service DWD predicted prolonged snowfall until Saturday afternoon for most of Bavaria, with up to 30-40 centimeters of snow expected in some places, "much of which should fall during the night into Saturday".
Most local bus and tram lines have been cancelled from Friday evening until Saturday in Munich as road conditions have worsened.
