Death of Zenica miners revives pain for my Almir who died two years ago

Muradif Hajduković from Breza shares the grief with the families in Zenica who lost their loved ones in the mining accident, writes the BH News Agency Patria (NAP). In just two days, it will be two years since the death of his son Almir (26), who also died in a mining accident in the Breza mine on September 7, 2012.

The death of five Zenica miners, Muradif tells NAP, has once again awakened a strong pain in his chest.

- I completely understand the families of the unfortunate miners from Zenica. I pray to God to ease their grief, and I ask these good people to have patience and accept the fate that God has decreed for them – Hajduković said.

An earthquake recorded yesterday afternoon 14 km northeast of Zenica in the Raspotočje mine of the Brown Coal Mine Zenica caused a mountain shock. 34 miners were trapped in the mine. Five of them died, and 29 were rescued only after 20 hours of agony.

Muradif's son died two years ago from poisoning by mine gas. He was a member of the Rescue Squad. For unknown reasons, Hajduković's breathing apparatus fell off while he was inspecting the mine corridors, after which he suffocated. He is survived by his wife and two minor children.

- It is difficult when you lose a child, but I extinguish my pain for my son by constantly thinking about how he lost his life honorably, working honestly and diligently for his family – said Hajduković, who watches the news on television about the tragedy in Zenica with tears in his eyes.

- If my Almir were alive, he would be going to rescue his colleagues from Zenica now. But, alas, in two days it will be exactly two years since he passed away. What can I do, I remain silent and patient – says Hajduković, writes NAP.
