Radončić Case: Decision on BiH Prosecutor's Office Appeal in Next Three or Four Days

Lawyer Asim Crnalić, who is part of the defense team for Fahrudin Radončić, president of the SBB and delegate of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, arrested on January 25, 2016, for obstructing the judiciary, said that he expects a decision from the BiH Court on the appeal of the BiH Prosecutor's Office regarding the decision to lift custody for Fahrudin Radončić due to violations of the prohibition measures imposed after his release from custody in the next three or four days, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Recall, Radončić spent 23 days in custody after which he was released with prohibition measures. Radončić's lawyers submitted a response to the BiH Prosecutor's Office's appeal to the BiH Court.

The BiH Court prohibited Radončić from leaving his place of residence, meeting with all witnesses who have already been heard, as well as approaching those witnesses at a distance of less than 100 meters, and prohibited mutual contact and meetings with co-defendants in this criminal case, as well as contact with all representatives of print and electronic media regarding circumstances related to this criminal proceeding.

Recall, the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina filed an indictment against Fahrudin Radončić, Bakir Dautbašić, Bilsena Šahman, and Zijad Hadžijahić. These individuals are charged with, among other things, organizing and becoming members of an organized group of people, which was organized and led by Fahrudin Radončić, and through their actions, mutual agreements, and interconnected activities, in the period from December 14, 2015, to January 12, 2016, committed criminal offenses.

Radončić is specifically charged with association for the purpose of committing criminal offenses (Article 249 of the BiH Criminal Code), Obstruction of the judiciary (Article 241 of the BiH Criminal Code), and Giving a reward or other form of benefit for influence peddling (Article 219 of the BiH Criminal Code).
