Radončić and others case: BiH Prosecutor's Office submits material evidence

The BiH Prosecutor's Office continued to submit material evidence in the case of Fahrudin Radončić and others. Among these pieces of evidence is the statement of defendants Bakir Dautbašić and Bilsena Šahman regarding contacts with witness Azra Sarić, which was sent to the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), writes Detektor.ba, reported by Patria.

The statement, as prosecutor Elvira Stanojlović said, was notarized by notary Samir Muslić, and SIPA received it on December 23, 2015, and submitted it to the BiH Prosecutor's Office six days later.

At the proposal of Dautbašić's defense attorney Tatjana Savić, prosecutor Stanojlović read the statement which states that on December 15, 2015, Sarić asked to meet with Dautbašić and Šahman at a catering facility, but she came to Šahman's apartment and said that she had testimony in Kosovo and would not mention Fahrudin Radončić in exchange for not being written about in Dnevni avaz, and for her specialization to be secured and employment at the Clinical Center to be enabled.

In the statement, they also stated that Sarić knew about their acquaintance with Radončić, that they had not discussed it with anyone, that they both went on a trip, and when they returned, Šahman met with her near the Park hotel and advised her that "the truth is the best".

Among the evidence, the State Prosecutor's Office also executed an order to the Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor's Office from January 2016 to provide a copy of the criminal case file with Dautbašić's statement.

"It is evident that the defendants are trying to discredit Azra Sarić in order to build their defense and avoid responsibility," said the prosecutor.

Dautbašić said that the "person" contacted him because she knew that he was a candidate for the Minister of Transport and Communications of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the Party of Democratic Action (SBB) at that time.

"Because she knew, that's why she contacted us, and Šahman and I reported it to the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office and SIPA," explained the defendant.

The Prosecutor's Office also presented several search warrants, arrest records of Dautbašić and Šahman, SIPA reports, as well as certificates of temporary seizure of items.

The State Prosecutor's Office also submitted SIPA documents from the end of December 2015 and the beginning of January 2016, in which they report on the implementation of special investigative actions, with official notes containing an analysis of relevant phone calls and SMS messages.

"The documents are being submitted regarding the actions taken based on the order of the Court of BiH and that the Criminal Procedure Code was followed," said prosecutor Suada Pašić.

Radončić's defense attorney Dragan Barbarić pointed out that these documents speak of illegal actions by the BiH Prosecutor's Office and that they show two orders from the State Court, but not the other order from the Prosecution.

Radončić added that the official notes are "a rather tendentious interpretation of the conversations" and that their content significantly differs from the audio recordings.

The continuation of the trial is scheduled for September 20.
