In the BiH Prosecutor's Office today, the directors of the entity statistical institutes of the RS and FBiH, Radmila Čičković and Emir Kremić, gave statements as witnesses regarding all activities related to the 2013 population census, the results of which have not yet been published, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.
Kremić told Patria that he cannot speak about this case, and did not want to either confirm or deny that he was in the BiH Prosecutor's Office.
The BiH Prosecutor's Office has formed a case with the aim of investigating all activities related to the population census, in order to determine whether there are elements of criminal liability of persons in this project, which cost around 50 million KM.
Due to the failure to reach an agreement on a unified methodology for publishing the census results, the entire process is on hold, and experts warn that even if the results are published by July 1, which is the legal deadline, there is a possibility that they will not be valid and accepted.
As Patria learns, some witnesses have already given statements, and it is expected that the director of the Agency for Statistics of BiH, Velimir Jukić (HDZ BiH), will also do so, and the former director of the Agency, Zdenko Milinović, will be summoned as a witness.
We recall that a new meeting of the Central Census Bureau was supposed to be held this week, but it was canceled because no agreement on the methodology was reached, and the meeting is scheduled for next week.
