Orić Case: Prosecution Witnesses Withdraw from Testifying

At the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the trial of wartime Srebrenica commander Naser Orić and Sabahudin Muhić, whom the BiH Prosecutor's Office charges with war crimes in the Srebrenica area in 1992, continued, with Stojanka Savić appearing as a witness for the BiH Prosecutor's Office, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Another witness for the BiH Prosecutor's Office, Slađana Bajić, daughter of Milutin Milošević, chief of the Bratunac police station and a Chetnik duke under whose command the village of Glogova was burned and hundreds of Bosniaks were expelled and killed in 1992, refused to testify, and the BiH Prosecutor's Office withdrew her as a witness.

Witness Stojanka Savić, wife of Mitar Savić, answering the question of prosecutor Miroslav Janjić about what happened to her husband, Savić said:

- He was assigned by his commander to the place Kunjerac and on December 14, 1992, he died on the spot where the four of them were in a trench - said Savić.

She stated that a certain Zoran, whose surname she could not remember, told her about her husband's death. He told her that he was hit in the mouth and died on the spot.

When asked by Judge Šaban Maksumić how much time passed from the death to the day when Zoran told her what happened to him, the witness said 15 days.

- When he was brought in on February 16, 1993, he had a wound on his mouth. I did not see him, but they examined him at the clinic - said Savić, who could not remember the name of the doctor who examined her husband's body.

- I don't care who killed him or how, let each carry their own burden - said the witness.

The next hearing is scheduled for June 28, when two new witnesses for the BiH Prosecutor's Office will testify.
