NLB Case: Not only Slovenians were defrauded in Sarajevo, but also the domestic company Energogroup

The investigation conducted by the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the case of the disappearance of more than 4.5 million KM of NLB Group Ljubljana's money reveals that not only the Slovenian bank was defrauded in Sarajevo, but also the Sarajevo-based company Energogroup (EG), writes the BiH news agency Patria.

In 2007, NLB Group Ljubljana started the project of building the residential-commercial center "Marijin Dvor" in Sarajevo. The plan was for the Sarajevo-based company Profit-invest to purchase, with the money from NLB Group, more than 16,000 square meters of land in Sarajevo, on which two residential-commercial buildings were to be built afterwards.

The value of the land was estimated at slightly more than 31 million KM. At that time, the land was owned by the company Unioninvest izgradnja objekata Sarajevo.

After the construction of the "Marijin Dvor" commercial buildings, Profit-invest was supposed to sell one building, while the other building would serve as the headquarters of NLB Group in Sarajevo.

However, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH discovered that more than 4.5 million KM intended for the financing of this project ended up in the private accounts of Profit-invest owners, their wives, and also in other places. The investigation further revealed that the project company EG Energogrup, which prepared the project documentation for the "Marijin Dvor" project, was also damaged in the entire fraud, and they did not collect payment for the job, worth more than one million KM, writes Patria.

The Municipal Court in Sarajevo even issued a verdict in August last year, obliging Profit-invest to pay EG Energogrup an amount slightly exceeding 1.4 million KM plus statutory interest, writes Patria.
