Memić Case: Prosecution Reads Parts of Diary Seized from Accused Zijad Mutap

(Patria) - In the continuation of the introduction of evidence by the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the trial for concealing evidence, parts of a notebook seized from the accused Zijad Mutap were read, which contain notes on the movements of the accused Alisa Ramić and Dženan Memić, from the day he died in Sarajevo in February 2016.

Prosecutor Ćazim Hasanspahić stated during the introduction of material evidence that it is a notebook whose entries begin on February 8, 2016, the day Memić died, adding that the diary ends on November 15, 2019.

During the reading of parts of the notebook, prosecutor Hasanspahić said that the notebook begins with the sentence: "Alisa goes out around 8 PM to meet her friend Zerina (...) Dženan calls Alisa and calls to see each other (...) Alisa and Dženan meet at Brajlović's," adding further that they arrive at the beginning of Velika aleja and move towards Vrelo Bosne.

"I called Alisa around 10 PM, the phone rang, and then some male voice answered and said he was a police officer (...) I arrived at the scene and saw an ambulance (...) The police said they were hit by a vehicle," prosecutor Hasanspahić read, adding that the police officer asked him for Alisa's ex-boyfriend's name and that the entire search was for a green car and Mirza Ploskić, Alisa's ex-boyfriend.

Reading sentences from the notebook, prosecutor Hasanspahić said that the case was also treated as a traffic accident and that an incident occurred in the "Babaluu" cafe that night, and that before that event, Dženan, Hamza, and Bakir were in the cafe. He added that on February 13, 2016, the accused Mutap learned that Mirza was sending messages to Alisa.

Continuing the reading, prosecutor Hasanspahić stated that on February 17, Mutap called Dupovac, telling him to arrest all of Mirza's friends and check them.

"I called Muriz and told him that the police had questioned Mirza and his friends and found no evidence," prosecutor Hasanspahić read from Mutap's notebook, adding that on March 9, 2016, he concluded that the police had nothing and that they relied on Alisa as the sole witness.

Mutap, as prosecutor Hasanspahić read, received information on July 11, 2016, that Dženan had a shootout with Budnja, that 50,000 convertible marks were allegedly paid, "with 200,000 marks given to the Gypsies to take responsibility.".

At today's hearing, the prosecution submitted several dozen material pieces of evidence, including the record of the interrogation of the accused Mutap at the Sarajevo MUP and Prosecutor's Office, orders, and findings and opinions of medical expert examinations of the accused Mutap and Memić, a set of documentation from the Clinical Center from admission onwards for Mutap, official notes of the KS MUP regarding actions related to the seizure of the central unit at the "Crystal" hotel, and orders for the seizure of video surveillance from facilities.

Prosecutor Hasanspahić also read two records of interrogation of the protected witness M-11 from 2021. M-11 stated that she remembers traveling along the Alley in a van around the time the young man died, when "something bumped and hit.".

"The van we were traveling in was dark green," said witness M-11.

The defense of the third accused, Hasan Dupovac, objected to this statement, stating that it was not taken in the presence of an employee of the Center for Social Work, as it concerned a minor.

Zijad Mutap, his daughter Alisa Ramić, formerly Mutap, the then head of the Traffic Investigation Department Hasan Dupovac, police officer Josip Barić, and hotel employee Muamer Ožegović are on trial for concealing evidence.

The continuation of the trial is scheduled for October 20, when the presentation of material evidence by the Defense is planned.
