Montenegrin Parliament supported NATO accession

The Parliament of Montenegro voted on the decision for this country to join the NATO Alliance. The decision was supported by all 46 MPs present. MPs from DPS, Bosniak Party, Social Democrats, HGI, Albanian Coalition "All for Unity", Liberal Party and SDP voted for the decision, vijesti.me reports, Patria conveys.

Prime Minister Duško Marković said that today will be written in the brightest history of Montenegro.

- NATO membership is a long-term guarantee of the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity - Marković said.

The head of the Government said that this is the best decision for Montenegro and its citizens, stating that the benefits of membership have been explained many times before.

- NATO and the EU have been and remain a guarantee of peace and stability, the main basis for economic and social prosperity - Marković explained.

NATO membership, he said, will be a guarantee of the security of the state and citizens. This, he believes, is a tailwind for implementing reforms on the path to the European Union.
