Nearly 100 dead in Syrian air force attack

At least 96 people, mostly civilians, were killed in a Syrian air force airstrike on Sunday in Douma, a rebel stronghold near Damascus, making it one of the deadliest attacks since the start of the war in that country, according to the latest report from a non-governmental organization, as reported by the Patria news agency.

-The death toll has risen to 96, including at least two women and four children, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) announced, adding that the number could rise as many of the wounded are in critical condition.

In that airstrike by forces of President Bashar al-Assad on a market in Douma, at least 240 people were wounded, SOHR added, which relies on a wide network of sources across Syria, according to international agencies.
