Skaka at Trump's Prayer Breakfast

(Patria) - Mayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka will attend the 68th traditional prayer breakfast in Washington at the invitation of the United States Congress. The host of the event, in addition to congressmen from the two largest American parties, will also be US President Donald Trump.

This is one of the most significant annual political events in the US, traditionally held at the Hilton Hotel in the US capital, always on the first Thursday of February. This year's prayer breakfast will be held on February 6.

Every year, the US President addresses the public at this gathering, which will again be attended by guests from over 100 countries worldwide, as well as most of the highest-ranking American officials, including numerous US congressmen and senators.

Mayor Skaka emphasizes that this is an opportunity to promote the City of Sarajevo and establish it in the best possible way on the international stage.

- This is also a recognition for the City of Sarajevo as an institution and for all that we are doing to restore the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina to its rightful place in international relations. It will be a chance to discuss the situation in Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina with our friends from the US, especially about the development projects that lie ahead of us. The US has been and remains our greatest ally and partner, and the people of Sarajevo will never forget that – states the Mayor of Sarajevo.

 

Bilateral meetings with American officials are also planned during the stay in the US.

- Of course, we will use the opportunity to deepen cooperation and open new channels of communication. So far, we have had very important and good cooperation with the US, but the prayer breakfast is a gathering of the most influential people from all walks of life, and the City of Sarajevo has the potential and projects that can interest investors and potential partners – Skaka said.
