(Patria) - The United States has lifted sanctions on interim President of Venezuela Delcy Rodriguez, according to the website of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, less than three months after U.S. forces abducted then-President of that country Nicolas Maduro, Reuters reported.
The administration of President Donald Trump cooperated with the interim government, including an agreement for the United States to sell Venezuelan oil, and issued the lifting of sanctions to encourage American investments.
U.S. forces captured Maduro on January 3 after months of heightened tensions between the two countries, which triggered a chain of changes in Venezuela.
