(Patria) - The Donald Trump administration has approved weapons for the United Arab Emirates worth about seven billion dollars, which the State Department is not obliged to disclose to the public according to the rules governing the export of American weapons, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday, Reuters reported.
This comes in addition to the sale of weapons to three Middle Eastern countries worth more than 16.5 billion dollars, announced earlier on Thursday, the Journal states.
The undisclosed deals include the sale of Patriot PAC-3 missiles worth about 5.6 billion dollars and CH-47 Chinook helicopters costing the United Arab Emirates about 1.32 billion dollars, the Wall Street Journal reports, citing US officials, adding that the sale was not publicly announced because it expands previously agreed-upon arms deals.
