Remembrance of civilians killed in Žrtava fašizma Street

(Patria) - A delegation of Sarajevo Canton today laid flowers at the site of the massacre in Žrtava fašizma Street at number 12 in the Otoka neighborhood, in memory of nine killed civilians, five of whom were children.

This massacre was committed by the Army of Republika Srpska, 29 years ago, when it fired three grenades from positions in Nedžarići, whose shrapnel wounded another 38 Sarajevo residents at the time.

Killed were two-year-old Elma Geko, four-year-old Semir Haseta, six-year-old Ibrahim Huskić, eight-year-old Amina Hećo and nine-year-old Ajdin Hodžić, as well as Slavojka Govedarica, Vinko Lončar, Silvijo Mačorović and Božidar Šuka.

Flowers at the memorial were also laid by families, friends of the killed fellow citizens, delegations of the Novi Grad Municipality, representatives of the Association of Parents of Killed Children of Besieged Sarajevo, the Union of Civilian War Victims of Sarajevo Canton, the Council of the Local Community “Otoka”, the Anti-Dayton movement, as well as the “Mehmedalija Mak Dizdar” Elementary School.
