Syrian attacks multiple people with a knife in Austrian city, 14-year-old killed

(Patria) - In the center of the Austrian city of Villach on Saturday afternoon, a 23-year-old Syrian attacked several passers-by with a knife. He killed a 14-year-old, and four other people were injured, two of them seriously.

The attack occurred on the street around 4 PM.

A food delivery driver hit the attacker with his car, preventing him from injuring a larger number of people. He was subsequently arrested by the police, and photos from social media show him smiling before his arrest.

The police have launched a large operation, and it is assumed that the perpetrator acted alone.
