Syrian escapes from prison in Norway, arrested in Sarajevo on Interpol warrant

(Patria) - Police officers of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, in cooperation with the Intelligence and Security Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, located and deprived of liberty a Syrian national M.F.A. (2001) for whom an active Interpol warrant was issued – NCB Oslo.

The 24-year-old suspect escaped from prison in Norway on September 23, 2025, where he was serving a prison sentence for the serious criminal offense of rape.

The suspect is undergoing criminal processing at the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, after which he will be handed over to the extradition judge of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for further competent proceedings.
