SIPA Seizes Four Kilograms of Heroin at Gradiška Border Crossing, Two Foreign Nationals Arrested

(Patria) - State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) police officers, by order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the Gradiška Border Crossing, during a search of a passenger motor vehicle with foreign license plates, discovered and temporarily seized approximately 4 kilograms of a powdery substance resembling the narcotic drug heroin and approximately 30 grams of a powdery substance resembling the narcotic drug cocaine.

Two individuals, foreign nationals, were deprived of their liberty on grounds of reasonable suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of "Unauthorized Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs," as stipulated by the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Following criminal processing and questioning as suspects, they will be handed over to the further jurisdiction of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the search, two mobile phones and the passenger motor vehicle were also seized.

Activities on the ground were carried out in cooperation with police officers from the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska.

The operational action "M16" is the result of several months of cooperation with partner agencies in the region and Europe.

SIPA continues its work to establish all facts related to the aforementioned criminal offense, as well as to prevent all forms of crime, with a special emphasis on the unauthorized trafficking of narcotic drugs.
