SIPA raids Hotel Holiday, investigating tax evasion

Under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, and by order of the Municipal Court of Sarajevo, officers of the Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the assistance of SIPA members, are conducting a search of business premises and facilities within the Hotel Holiday Sarajevo HTD Sarajevo d.o.o. in bankruptcy, announced the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.
- This is due to reasonable suspicion that responsible persons of the company „Holiday Resort“ d.o.o. Sarajevo, using the hotel's business premises, committed the criminal offense of tax evasion under Article 273 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the search, authorized officials, under the supervision of the acting cantonal prosecutors, have so far seized fiscal cash registers, as well as relevant documentation that will serve as evidence in the criminal proceedings. The search has not yet been completed. 

Incidentally, the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, in cooperation with the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), is undertaking actions against responsible persons of the company „Holiday Resort“ d.o.o. Sarajevo,  due to the existence of reasonable suspicion that they, in the period from July 2014 to the present, using the business premises of the Hotel Holiday Sarajevo HTD Sarajevo d.o.o. in bankruptcy, committed the criminal offense of tax evasion, i.e., that by providing false information about their earned income, they avoided paying tax obligations.

As a source from the hotel told Patria, the situation is quite calm, and other companies that have their premises within the Hotel Holiday are not included in this operation.
